Ilfracombe Lighting Of The Christmas Lights 29th November - 1st December 2019
We are proud to Sponsor the Ilfracombe Lighting of the Lights this year and have recently done a raffle raising just over
£300 which all proceeds will go to the Lighting of the lights.
On Friday 29th November this year’s parade will start at approx 6:30pm from The Candar and proceed along the High Street and thanks to Carol Turner and her team of elves, the lantern parade will be bigger and better than ever!
At the war memorial the crowds will be entertained by the cast of the local production of the Sound of Music - and there'll even be a festive sing-a-long with a big screen.
Ilfracombe Town Council's Ropery Road car park will play host to Combe Christmas HQ with a marquee twice the size of previous years.
Ilfracombe will be transformed into a winter wonderland as the annual "Combe Christmas" event hits the town.
The town's Christmas tree will be blessed by Father John Roles before the lights are finally switched on at 7pm, followed by a festive fireworks display.
The town's shops will be open late for shopping and the High Street will be host several street vendors.
There will even be a chance to meet Santa on his sleigh. The roads will reopen at 9pm.
It's then followed on Saturday and Sunday buy a whole host of events and entertainment to truly get you in the Christmas spirit.
From 11am to 5pm there will be a market with stalls, food and drink vendors, bars and children's crafts on offer.
Live music will come from a whole host of local talent such as (tbc) Shrug, Rough Justice, Wyldwoods and Andy Mac.
The focus changes to children's entertainment on Sunday with a fancy dress competition at 12.45pm followed by Dave Hendy's magic show at 1pm.
There will also be a Santa's Grotto open from 11am to 4pm.
